Himizu manga gets live action film

This is the story of a far stalker named Yūichi Sumida, who is a a third-year middle school boy who longs for a normal life, after being abandoned by his parents and left in control of their small boat rental shop but a certain incident sets him on a descent into darkness.

The film will be directed by Shion Sono, often known by the live action version of Suicide Circle.

18 year old actor Shota Sometani will play the role of the boy and 16 year old actress Fumi Nikaido will play Sumida's classmate.

The manga was serialized by Kodansha, in the original Young Magazine from 2001 to 2003.
