The anime is being produced by MADHOUSE, the studio behind series like Death Note and Vampire Hunter D, and it follows the adventures of the Winchester brothers, recreating key episodes and deleted scenes from previous seasons.
The definitive date of shipping of the DVD and Blu-Ray in Japan will be on February 23, 2011, given that it was delayed a month. Two more boxes will ship on March 9 and April 6.
Madhouse and Warner Bros. have finally released a 35 second teaser trailer for the anime version of this live-action series by the CW. It will come out in DVD and Blu-ray in Japan on January 12, 2011 with the first 12 episodes. The remaining 10 will be released on April 6 of that same year.
Both actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles will do the English dub for at least two episodes, and the date of the American release is still unknown.
