Update 2 - G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra

As you remember this first mention in a year ago on this blog called “G.I. Joe countdown for Zartan” which regards on the release of movie and now this is the finale update of this a much awaited movie of 2009.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is an upcoming live action film adaptation from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy franchise, which will be released on August 7, 2009. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers who also a director for the “The Mummy: Return”, produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and written by Stuart Beattie based on a 1998 screenplay by John Paul Kay. G.I. Joe features an ensemble cast based on the various characters of the franchise. Filming took place in Downey, California and Prague's Barrandov Studios.

The movie was set ten years in the futre and an origin story that will focus in the rise of the Cobra Organization. Stephen Sommers said, "For people who know nothing about it, it'll make sense. And to people who love this stuff, it'll show where they all came from." The film focuses on Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord's (Marlon Wayans) induction into the G.I. Joe Team, providing the audience's point-of-view. Locations include the Arctic, Paris, Moscow, Washington, D.C., Australia and the Sahara. The G.I. Joe Team is based in the Pit, while it was indicated Cobra Island will appear.

G.I. Joe Countdown for Zartan

Zartan which an anagram of Tarzan, is one of the main villain characters in the animated series called, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Comic by Hasbro. This character is a mercenary who often worked directly for Cobra Commander which on his stated file card he suffered from Paranoid Schizophrenia and Multiple Personality Disorder.

The character has the ability to alter his skin color at will to blend in with his environment. He is also a master of make-up and disguise, a ventriloquist, a linguist which can understand and dialects over 20 languages, an acrobatic-contortionist and a practitioner of several mystic martial arts. Very little is known of his background and origins, but most security agencies agree that he must have had European military academy training which been probably at St. Cyr.

Update on up coming movie:

On the upcoming movie of Joe vs. Cobra that will be hit on big screen in the year 2009 summer which will be directed by Stephen Sommers. These are the first reveal character image of the movie.

Jumper | World Premiere

Jumper is a 1992 fictional character based on written novel of Steven Gould which the story tells about a young teenager, Davey. He had special gift which is a genetic abnormality that allows him to teleport himself by using his thoughts. Although at first he doesn’t know how to use his power but later as he familiarized his talent he use it against any criminal activities and to find his long-lost mother. His gifts have existed for centuries that find him in war that has been raging for many years already between the “Jumper” and “Paladins”.

On a film version which going to release on February 14, 2008 of the same title, Hayden Christensen played as “Jumper” (stars on “Awaken” along Jessica Alba). The film has directed by Doug Liman which written in screenplay by David S. Goyer and other stars are Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Bilson, and Jamie Bell. This film was also “a must seen movie of the year on our favorite movie theater” as the new superhero character that produced by 20^th Century Fox.
